Bring your mom, son, friend, date, neighbor, or anyone you'd like to our family acrobatics class! All are welcome between ages 7 - 97. This is a time to enjoy going upside down, rolling, and working together in a LAVA class. Please bring a partner (or 2 or 3).

Performance Composition Workshop

February 1, 8, & 15, 6:30-9:30 PM | Instructor: Sarah East Johnson
Sarah East Johnson, artistic director of LAVA, will teach a workshop on performance composition, sharing some of the knowledge and information she has gathered over 20 years of making performances. You will have the luxury and challenge of developing your skills as a maker of things that are temporal-- deciding, choosing, and nurturing a series of events, occurrences, movements, and or scenes to create something like a dance or performance piece. We will practice and explore some of the tools of performance composition--spacing, timing, rhythm, pacing, etc. - as well as tools that apply to any creative process--images, impulses, resources, practices, editing, and meeting a deadline. You do not need to have experience as a dancer, performer, director or choreographer but if you do, that is welcome.
3-Class Workshop $80, Drop-In $30

LAVA Style Conditioning

Feb 29 & Mar 7, 6:30 - 8:00 PM| Instructor: Allison Schnur
